If you love classical music and live near to Solihull then this site is for you. Solihull Events is a genuine local site, run by people from Solihull for the benefit of our community. The site exists to help to promote and coordinate classical music concerts and other "arts" events in the Solihull area. Participating organisations are listed below.   • Solihull Symphony Orchestra

    Solihull Symphony Orchestra is a welcoming and friendly group that performs varied and challenging repertoire. We aim to give at least three concerts a year, including our annual Rising Stars event which provides an opportunity for talented young local musicians to perform with the orchestra.

    We like to perform in different venues throughout the Borough, and welcome invitations to play at special events.

  • Solihull Choral Society

    Solihull Choral is the premier choir in Solihull drawing its singers from Birmingham and Warwickshire as well as Solihull.

    The 50 strong choir aims to make music of the highest standard employing the best professional soloists and orchestras. Our repertoire extends from the great works of Monteverdi, Bach and Handel to the C20th masters of Bernstein, Britten and Finzi.

  • St Alphege Music

    St Alphege boasts a strong choral foundation singing in the cathedral style of the Church of England.  We have a choir of Boys and Men and choirs of Girls and Ladies.  There are regular concerts and recitals by professional artists from all over the country as well as workshops to outreach into the community and schools in Solihull.

  • Solihull Chandos Choir

    Solihull Chandos Choir is a lively well-established SATB choir, with a membership of around 80.

    As well as a concert schedule of 4 or so concerts per season , including an orchestral concert , with the Sinfonia of Birmingham, the Choir enjoys a varied social programme, including concert tours both in this country and abroad, often jointly with other local choirs.

    Following the success of our Come and Sing Gloria event last October, we are delighted to announce another day of singing workshops with St Alphege Church Choirs, led by Joe Cooper, culminating in a concert performance at 7pm.  The works to be covered are Fauré’s famous Requiem, with its focus on eternal rest and consolation, and the modern Requiem by John Rutter which will be accompanied on the day by a chamber ensemble.

    Places for singers cost £10, which includes music and afternoon tea.  Audience tickets for the evening concert cost £5.  Further details are available on our website www.stalphegemusic.org.uk.

    Sing! Bentley Heath community choir’s Springtime concert will be on the theme of ‘Songs from Stage and Screen’ this year.  The singers, under the musical direction of Jane Perrins, will be performing in Christ Church URC, Solihull on the 23rd April. The programme will include a range of musical styles with some great pop classics and stage songs like ‘Let the River Run’, ‘Forever Autumn’, ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘Sing!’ provided by the all-age mixed choir.

    All profits and collections from the concert will go to the choir’s two nominated charities for 2015/16 – Solihull Age UK and Heartlands Ward 19.  [This years concert has been kindly sponsored by Paul Brady partner at St James’s Place Wealth Management.  The ‘Spring Sing!‘ starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 23rd April at Christ Church URC, Warwick Road, Solihull and there will be tea, coffee and cake in the interval and a raffle. All are welcome and the ticket price is £7.50 for adults.
